Student Involvement

Student Organizations

These are all of the student organizations I have been a part of throughout my time at Mizzou. I am highly involved on campus, and take pride in using my platforms to invoke change for black students on Mizzou's campus.

The Legion of Black Collegians

For the 2024-2025 school year, I will be serving as the President for the Legion of Black Collegians. During the 2023-2024 school year, I served as the Activities Chair for the Legion of Black Collegians, and I was the Executive Secretary for the 2022-2023 school year. It's been so rewarding to be a part of this organization as I've been able to bring some innovative ideas to the community. Being involved in this organization since my freshman year has allowed me to be a part of an ever-evolving organization and learn more about myself and the Mizzou community in several ways. Something I'm looking forward to is repairing and rebuilding our connection with other organizations around campus.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated

During the Spring 2023 semester, I had the privilege of becoming a member of the Epsilon Psi chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. It's been such a blessing to have met such amazing black women and be able to uphold the values of sisterhood, scholarship, and service in my everyday life. Through this organization, I've been able to directly engage in community outreach and put on events about wellbeing, physical health, and more. We were also able to bring in remarkable women during the Fall 2023 semester. Something I'm looking forward to for the organization is to continue growing and learning with my sisters and finding new ways to provide service to the Columbia community.

The National Association of Black Journalists

During the 2023-2024 school year, I joined the Alé Mu chapter of the Legion of Black Collegians as the Sergeant-At-Arms. In this role, I was responsible for maintaining and tracking attendance, being present at all general body and executive meetings, and facilitating service opportunities for the chapter to participate in. As someone who's been a general body member for the past two years, it's been eye-opening to be behind the scenes of the organization and see the level of work it takes to provide the resources to the community. I'm so excited to take a step back and let this year's executive board take it away!

LSV

During my Spring 2023 semester, I had the privilege of being tapped for the LSV honor society at the University of Missouri. LSV is an all-women secret society that is dedicated to honoring women who continuously improve and promote the status of women on this campus. Being seen as an example of a woman making change on the Mizzou campus is something I don't take for granted. I loved going through this experience with other young women and being able to surprise my friends and family when we revealed ourselves during the annual Tap Day ceremony. It was so cool to be recognized for my contributions, and I continue to make a conscious effort every day to live by the values previously set by LSV women. I served as Vice President during the 2023-2024 academic year, and am proud to pass that role down to five other exquisite women.
